Welcome to Foundations of Data Science

This course introduces you to advanced data programming and analysis techniques to process data sets and derive meaningful, statistically sound observations (e.g., summary statistics and inferences).

The course image reads "Data has a better idea." In other words, there is a "view" in the data that, when found, can support, refine or contradict an idea – a hypothesis, an argument – we might have about the world. So, at a high level, the most important lesson of this course is to learn to create appropriate views to solidify and communicate our ideas, no matter our background. The course has roughly two main parts – analysing data with certainty (e.g., looking into past trends) and analysing them with some level of uncertainty (e.g., predicting future trends).
